Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Study for 'The Descent from the Cross' by David Scott was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,541.00 (€ 6,629.72). Other works by David Scott have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in March 2002 by the work Loch Morar at GBP 4,935.00 (€ 8,067.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Study for 'The Descent from the Cross' von David Scott im Februar 2003 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.541,00 (€ 6.629,72) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von David Scott wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im März 2002 die Arbeit Loch Morar mit GBP 4.935,00 (€ 8.067,43).
