In the Old Master and 19th Century Drawings auction, the work A seated woman in profile to the left holding a plate; An angel holding a carafe on a plate; and A draped bearded man looking up sold for USD 6,572.50 (€ 5,278.27) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by David-Pierre-Giottino Humbert de Superville; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Twelve studies after works in Florence, Pisa and Siena including: Entombment by Donatello; Satan applying to the Almighty for permission to tempt Job by Taddeo Gaddi (illustrated); Resurrection of the dead child by Giotto; and St Paul surrounded by V sold at auction in November 2010 with the realized price of
