Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Sunday in Jamaica by David Niven was sold in the The Cowdray Sale: Works of Art from Cowdray Park and Dunecht House,At Cowdray Park, West Sussex auction at Christies in London in September 2011. The price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,887.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Niven - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shipping, which sold at auction in March 2015 for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 4,147.66).
