In March 2002 Christies in London held the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures, which included the work Near Coulter by David McLeod Martin. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,292.50 (€ 2,112.90), 29% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by David McLeod Martin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Summer bouquet in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 10,200.00 (€ 15,009.99).

Im März 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Near Coulter von David McLeod Martin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.292,50 (€ 2.112,90) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David McLeod Martin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Summer bouquet im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.200,00 (€ 15.009,99).
