It achieved a price of USD 2,805.00 (€ 2,662.05), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 40%. Admittedly, works by David Gilhooly have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Group of seventeen sculptures in December 2017 with an auction result of USD 22,500.00 (€ 18,715.69).

Die Arbeit Pretzel Cup, 1990 von David Gilhooly kam im April letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 2.805,00 (€ 2.662,05) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 40%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Gilhooly auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Group of seventeen sculptures im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 18.715,69).
