Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Animalia, which included the work Ark of the Animals by David Gilhooly. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,120.00 (€ 6,160.66), 22% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Gilhooly - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Group of seventeen sculptures, which sold at auction in December 2017 for USD 22,500.00 (€ 18,715.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Animalia durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ark of the Animals von David Gilhooly zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.120,00 (€ 6.160,66) und damit 22% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von David Gilhooly mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Group of seventeen sculptures beobachtet, die im Dezember 2017 für USD 22.500,00 (€ 18.715,69) versteigert wurde.
