Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Mo'omomi, Molokai, Hawaii by David Howard Hitchcock was sold in the The Art of Hawaiʻi auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 32,000.00 (€ 29,523.02). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Howard Hitchcock - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Burning Lake, Hawaii), which sold at auction in August 2021 for USD 115,312.50 (€ 97,722.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Mo'omomi, Molokai, Hawaii von David Howard Hitchcock wurde im August diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Art of Hawaiʻi bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 32.000,00 (€ 29.523,02) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von David Howard Hitchcock mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Burning Lake, Hawaii) beobachtet, die im August 2021 für USD 115.312,50 (€ 97.722,46) versteigert wurde.
