Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Eruption at Kilauea by David Howard Hitchcock was sold in the California Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August 2021. The price achieved of USD 22,812.50 (€ 19,332.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Howard Hitchcock have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Burning Lake, Hawaii) in August 2021 with an auction result of USD 115,312.50 (€ 97,722.46).
