Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Woldgate Woods II, 16 & 17 May, 2006 by David Hockney was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June last year. The price achieved of GBP 11,508,700.00 (€ 13,369,835.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000,000.00 – 15,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Hockney - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nichols Canyon, which sold at auction in December 2020 for USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
