This artwork by David Hockney achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2001. In the Contemporary Art and Photoworks auction, the work Untitled (Diving Board) sold for GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,696.91) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 96 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Hockney erzielte im Oktober 2001 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art and Photoworks wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Diving Board) für GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.696,91) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Hockney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nichols Canyon im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.067.500,00 (€ 33.579.313,16).
