Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by David Hamilton could be acquired at Christies in London in August 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART auction, the work Tradition and Progress (The Artist's Parents) changed hands for GBP 264.00 (€ 385.66) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hamilton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Danseuse. 1978. in December 2014 with an auction result of CHF 5,160.00 (€ 4,292.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Hamilton konnte im August 2005 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART wechselte die Arbeit Tradition and Progress (The Artist's Parents) für GBP 264,00 (€ 385,66) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Hamilton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Danseuse. 1978. im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 5.160,00 (€ 4.292,25).
