Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by David Hall McKewan could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours auction, the work Crossing a stream in Snowdonia (illustrated); and Betws-y-Coed changed hands for GBP 298.75 (€ 447.20) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by David Hall McKewan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Harlech Castle, North Wales in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 2,232.50 (€ 3,742.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Hall McKewan konnte im März 2004 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours wechselte die Arbeit Crossing a stream in Snowdonia (illustrated); and Betws-y-Coed für GBP 298,75 (€ 447,20) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Hall McKewan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Harlech Castle, North Wales im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.232,50 (€ 3.742,84).
