Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by David Gentleman could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century British Art including the Collection of the auction, the work Interior of the Glass House, Kew Gardens changed hands for GBP 107.55 (€ 154.39) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Admittedly, works by David Gentleman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Heveningham Hall, Suffolk in February 2019 with an auction result of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,020.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Gentleman konnte im November 2003 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art including the Collection of the wechselte die Arbeit Interior of the Glass House, Kew Gardens für GBP 107,55 (€ 154,39) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Gentleman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Heveningham Hall, Suffolk im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.020,72).
