Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Surfer's Path by David Chapple was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in December 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,020.00 (€ 901.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Chapple achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunlit Cove in April this year with an auction result of USD 12,750.00 (€ 11,548.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Surfer's Path von David Chapple kam im Dezember 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.020,00 (€ 901,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Chapple erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunlit Cove im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.750,00 (€ 11.548,91).
