Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work Mesa Eucalyptus by David Chapple. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,462.50 (€ 4,322.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Chapple - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunlit Cove, which sold at auction in April this year for USD 12,750.00 (€ 11,548.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mesa Eucalyptus von David Chapple zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.462,50 (€ 4.322,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von David Chapple mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunlit Cove beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für USD 12.750,00 (€ 11.548,91) versteigert wurde.
