Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Britannia Racing In The Clyde by David Brackman was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2008. The price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 23,631.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Brackman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work H.M.S. Victory , a bow view, breaking the enemy line at the Battle of Trafalgar, 21 October 1805, which sold at auction in July 2016 for GBP 64,900.00 (€ 77,115.24).
