The »bidding war« ended at GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,730.56), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Brackman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work H.M.S. Victory , a bow view, breaking the enemy line at the Battle of Trafalgar, 21 October 1805, which sold at auction in July 2016 for GBP 64,900.00 (€ 77,115.24).
