A top price for Cristofano Allori
In December 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work Judith With The Head Of Holofernes by Cristofano Allori. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 173,000.00 (€ 234,925.68), 44% above the upper estimate. With this result, Judith With The Head Of Holofernes is even the most expensive work of art by Cristofano Allori that we have observed at auctions so far.
