Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Original Illustration Art from the Collections of Kendra and Allan Daniel, which included the work Frog Band by Palmer Cox. It changed hands for a price of USD 875.00 (€ 590.38) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 700.00 – 900.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Palmer Cox - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Brownie with row of bicycles, which sold at auction in April 2011 for USD 2,000.00 (€ 1,349.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Original Illustration Art from the Collections of Kendra and Allan Daniel durch, in der auch die Arbeit Frog Band von Palmer Cox zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 875,00 (€ 590,38) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 700,00 – 900,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Palmer Cox mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Brownie with row of bicycles beobachtet, die im April 2011 für USD 2.000,00 (€ 1.349,44) versteigert wurde.
