A top price for Cornelius Høyer
In December 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection, which included the work Portrait of a lady holding a drawing, circa 1785 by Cornelius Høyer. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,032.00 (€ 4,504.10), 34% above the upper estimate. With this result, Portrait of a lady holding a drawing, circa 1785 is even the most expensive work of art by Cornelius Høyer that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a lady holding a drawing, circa 1785 von Cornelius Høyer zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.032,00 (€ 4.504,10) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Mit diesem Ergebnis ist Portrait of a lady holding a drawing, circa 1785 sogar das teuerste Kunstwerk von Cornelius Høyer, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
