Here, the upper estimate of NLG 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for NLG 3,510.60 (€ 1,618.05). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis Steffelaar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A winter landscape with figures on the ice, which sold at auction in September 2000 for NLG 8,191.40 (€ 3,775.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A wooded landscape with a traveller on a sandy trail von Cornelis Steffelaar wurde im September 2000 in der Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS DRAWINGS AND COPIES AFTER OLD MASTERS bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von NLG 3.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für NLG 3.510,60 (€ 1.618,05) einen neuen Besitzer.
