Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Greeks ailing Off The Coast by Constantinos Volanakis. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 22,563.12) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Constantinos Volanakis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Greek The Arrival Of Karaiskakis At Faliro in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,609,250.00 (€ 1,945,704.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2013 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Greeks ailing Off The Coast von Constantinos Volanakis zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 22.563,12) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Constantinos Volanakis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Greek The Arrival Of Karaiskakis At Faliro im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.609.250,00 (€ 1.945.704,19).
