In November 2021 Bonhams in Paris held the auction The Greek Sale, which included the work Chantier naval by Constantinos Volanakis. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 31,562.50 58% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Constantinos Volanakis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Greek The Arrival Of Karaiskakis At Faliro in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,609,250.00 (€ 1,945,704.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Bonhams in Paris die Auktion The Greek Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chantier naval von Constantinos Volanakis zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 31.562,50 und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Constantinos Volanakis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Greek The Arrival Of Karaiskakis At Faliro im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.609.250,00 (€ 1.945.704,19).
