Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction The Greek Sale, which included the work Greek Sailing Boat On A Calm Sea & On The Rocks; A Pair by Constantinos Romanides. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,347.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Constantinos Romanides have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sailing On Calm Waters in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 28,800.00 (€ 42,381.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Greek Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Greek Sailing Boat On A Calm Sea & On The Rocks; A Pair von Constantinos Romanides zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.347,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Constantinos Romanides auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sailing On Calm Waters im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 28.800,00 (€ 42.381,15).
