Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Conrad H.R. Carelli could be acquired at Christies in London in October 2003 for an unexpectedly low price. In the At Home-British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper auction, the work Looking towards Ostia, near Rome changed hands for GBP 188.00 (€ 274.59) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Conrad H.R. Carelli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View Over Menton, Côte D'Azur (Illustrated); And View of Calais, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 720.00 (€ 1,069.22).
