Auction result well in line with expectations
The work NARRIPI WORM DREAMING, 1997 by Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri was sold in the Aboriginal Art auction at Sothebys in New York in December 2020. The price achieved of USD 8,190 (€ 6,697) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been given by the auction house as USD 7,000 - 10,000. Admittedly, works by Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work in November 2007 with an auction result of AUD 84,000 (€ 50,601).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit NARRIPI WORM DREAMING, 1997 von Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion Aboriginal Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.190 (€ 6.697) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000 – 10.000 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 84.000 (€ 50.601).
