This artwork by Clementine Hunter achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February last year. In the Outsider Art auction, the work Baptismal Scene, 1967 sold for USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,466.32) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Clementine Hunter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Clementine In Her Flower Garden, 1984, which sold at auction in January 2021 for USD 32,500.00 (€ 26,782.04).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Clementine Hunter erzielte im Februar letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Outsider Art wurde die Arbeit Baptismal Scene, 1967 für USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.466,32) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Clementine Hunter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Clementine In Her Flower Garden, 1984 beobachtet, die im Januar 2021 für USD 32.500,00 (€ 26.782,04) versteigert wurde.
