A top price for Clément-Léopold Steiner - as previously expected
The work Love and the Butterfly by Clément-Léopold Steiner was sold in the 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART auction at Christies in New York in October 2004. The price achieved of USD 45,410.00 (€ 35,626.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Love and the Butterfly is the most expensive artwork by Clément-Léopold Steiner that we have observed at auctions so far.
