Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A salt cellar and an egg cup, a coffee set with a wine bottle, a melon and bread on a marble topped table by Claude-Joseph Fraichot was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 11,750.00 (€ 13,065.72). Other works by Claude-Joseph Fraichot have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2001 by the work Pears and bread on plates, with bottles of wine and glasses on a stone ledge at USD 14,100.00 (€ 15,678.86).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A salt cellar and an egg cup, a coffee set with a wine bottle, a melon and bread on a marble topped table von Claude-Joseph Fraichot im Oktober 2001 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
