Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art, which included the work Hunting Still Life With Game Birds And Zette, The Hound by Claude-François Desportes. The price achieved of USD 24,000.00 (€ 18,464.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Other works by Claude-François Desportes have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2020 the work Cygnes et canards dans un paysage de forêt was auctioned for EUR 27,500.00.
