Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Essay in Cursive Script (After Tao Qian's Gui Qu Lai Ci) by Chu Teh-Chun was sold in the Chinese 20th Century Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2010. It achieved a price of HKD 1,100,000.00 (€ 108,683.65), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 22%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chu Teh-Chun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Harmonie Hivernale in April 2021 with an auction result of HKD 229,568,000.00 (€ 24,578,851.54).
