Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction The Greek Sale, which included the work Still Life by Christos Caras. It changed hands for a price of GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,478.23) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Christos Caras - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Greek Abstract, which sold at auction in November 2008 for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 27,204.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Greek Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life von Christos Caras zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 7.800,00 (€ 11.478,23) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Christos Caras mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Greek Abstract beobachtet, die im November 2008 für GBP 22.500,00 (€ 27.204,19) versteigert wurde.
