This artwork by Christos Caras achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November 2020. In the The Greek Sale auction, the work Ithaque, 1981 sold for GBP 14,000.00 (€ 15,628.72) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Christos Caras; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Greek Abstract sold at auction in November 2008 with the realized price of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 27,204.19).
