Auction result well in line with expectations
The work CATHARINE, VISCOUNTESS SUDLEY (1739-1770) by Christopher Hewetson was sold in the Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction at Christies in London in December 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,557.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christopher Hewetson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A White Marble Bust Of Giovanni Vincenzo Antonio Ganganelli, Pope Clement Xiv, (1705-1774, Pope From 1769) in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 175,000.00 (€ 156,964.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit CATHARINE, VISCOUNTESS SUDLEY (1739-1770) von Christopher Hewetson wurde im Dezember 2019 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.557,51) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christopher Hewetson erzielen.
