Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Christina Quarles achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in Hong Kong in December last year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale in association with Yongle auction, the work I Can Only Feel Whut Touches Me sold for HKD 2,772,000.00 (€ 332,183.96) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christina Quarles achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Night Fell Upon Us Up On Us in May last year with an auction result of USD 4,527,000.00 (€ 4,218,618.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Christina Quarles erzielte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale in association with Yongle wurde die Arbeit I Can Only Feel Whut Touches Me für HKD 2.772.000,00 (€ 332.183,96) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.200.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christina Quarles erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Night Fell Upon Us Up On Us im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.527.000,00 (€ 4.218.618,95).
