Auction result misses estimated price range
In January last year a collector was able to acquire the work Recto: Hagar and Ismael Verso: Figure studies by Christian Wilhelm Ernst Dietrich for USD 882.00 (€ 786.66). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christian Wilhelm Ernst Dietrich achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Comedic Performance In A Park Setting in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 74,500.00 (€ 56,961.54).
