Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Mary Magdalen washing Christ's feet in the house of Simon the Pharisee (Luke 7:36-50) by Crispijn van den Broeck for EUR 4,750.00. This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism) at Christies in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Crispijn van den Broeck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Allegory Of Truth And Deception in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 169,025.51).
