A top price for Christiaan Soer - as previously expected
The work A view of the Wetstraat, Brussels, in winter, the L'Eglise St. Marie in the distance by Christiaan Soer was sold in the PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction at Christies in Amsterdam in February 2004. The price achieved of EUR 1,314.50 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A view of the Wetstraat, Brussels, in winter, the L'Eglise St. Marie in the distance is the most expensive artwork by Christiaan Soer that we have observed at auctions so far.
