Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2012 Christies in New York held the auction The National Geographic Collection: The Art of Exploration, which included the work Eruption, Virunga Mountains, Great Rift Valley, Zaire, 1990 by Chris Johns. The price achieved of USD 687.50 (€ 521.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Chris Johns have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Camels, Rift Valley, 1988 in December 2012 with an auction result of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,464.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The National Geographic Collection: The Art of Exploration durch, in der auch die Arbeit Eruption, Virunga Mountains, Great Rift Valley, Zaire, 1990 von Chris Johns zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 687,50 (€ 521,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden.
