Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sampans On An Oriental Waterway by Christopher Rave was sold in the At Home - British & Continental Pictures and Works on Paper auction at Christies in London in January 2004. The price achieved of GBP 258.50 (€ 378.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200.00 – 400.00. Admittedly, works by Christopher Rave have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dampfwalfangschiff im nördlichen Eismeer in April 2008 with an auction result of EUR 2,280.00.

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 258,50 (€ 378,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 200,00 – 400,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Christopher Rave auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dampfwalfangschiff im nördlichen Eismeer im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 2.280,00.
