Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Connection to the Universe by Chiharu Shiota was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Art auction at POLY in Grand Hyatt Hong Kong in October this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 70,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 84,000.00 (€ 10,158.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chiharu Shiota achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work State of Being in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 287,500.00 (€ 337,153.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Connection to the Universe von Chiharu Shiota wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art bei POLY in Grand Hyatt Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 70.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 84.000,00 (€ 10.158,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chiharu Shiota erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit State of Being im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 287.500,00 (€ 337.153,36).
