Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Connection to the Universe by Chiharu Shiota was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Art auction at POLY in Grand Hyatt Hong Kong in April this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 100,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 120,000.00 (€ 122,543.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chiharu Shiota - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work State of Being, which sold at auction in July 2021 for GBP 287,500.00 (€ 337,153.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Connection to the Universe von Chiharu Shiota wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art bei POLY in Grand Hyatt Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 120.000,00 (€ 122.543,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Chiharu Shiota mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit State of Being beobachtet, die im Juli 2021 für GBP 287.500,00 (€ 337.153,36) versteigert wurde.
