Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2020 Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Queen of Sheba by Chesley Bonestell. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,040.00 (€ 1,707.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Chesley Bonestell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Panoramic View Of The San Francisco Bay And Treasure Island in August 2019 with an auction result of USD 13,825.00 (€ 12,580.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2020 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Queen of Sheba von Chesley Bonestell zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.040,00 (€ 1.707,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chesley Bonestell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Panoramic View Of The San Francisco Bay And Treasure Island im August 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 13.825,00 (€ 12.580,76).
