Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Chen Wenji could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in October 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the THE CURRIER COLLECTION OF CHINESE CONTEMPORARY ART auction, the work Umbrella on Radiator changed hands for HKD 23,900.00 (€ 3,100.88) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Wenji achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Brimful in June 2015 with an auction result of CNY 1,180,000.00 (€ 170,641.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chen Wenji konnte im Oktober 2002 bei Christies in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion THE CURRIER COLLECTION OF CHINESE CONTEMPORARY ART wechselte die Arbeit Umbrella on Radiator für HKD 23.900,00 (€ 3.100,88) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Wenji erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Brimful im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CNY 1.180.000,00 (€ 170.641,92).
