This artwork by Chen Peiqiu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Eleven-character Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script sold for HKD 8,820.00 (€ 1,047.12) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Peiqiu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blossoming Lotus In Summer in October 2011 with an auction result of HKD 4,820,000.00 (€ 445,125.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 76 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chen Peiqiu erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Eleven-character Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script für HKD 8.820,00 (€ 1.047,12) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Peiqiu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blossoming Lotus In Summer im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.820.000,00 (€ 445.125,12).
