A top price for Chen Peiqiu
When the work Blossoming Lotus In Summer by Chen Peiqiu was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2011, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 800,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at HKD 4,820,000.00 (€ 445,125.12). This high result makes Blossoming Lotus In Summer the most expensive artwork by Chen Peiqiu that we have observed at auctions so far.
