Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Calligraphy in Regular Script - Staying True to Our Original Aspiration and Founding Mission by Chen Peiqiu was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in September last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 5,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 15,120.00 (€ 1,967.47). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Peiqiu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blossoming Lotus In Summer in October 2011 with an auction result of HKD 4,820,000.00 (€ 445,125.12).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy in Regular Script - Staying True to Our Original Aspiration and Founding Mission von Chen Peiqiu im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 5.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 15.120,00 (€ 1.967,47) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Peiqiu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blossoming Lotus In Summer im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.820.000,00 (€ 445.125,12).
