Mi-style landscape
Hanging scroll, ink and light color on paper, inscribed by the artist and signed Daofu with two artist's seals reading Baiyang shanren and Chen Daofu shi with three collectors' seals reading Liqing fujun yiwu, Kuai Shoushu jia zhencang and Shicun Lishi Jiacang, with an exterior titleslip by Tang Hong (born 1926) and dated renyin (1962).

A top price for Chen Daofu - as previously expected
The work Mi-style landscape by Chen Daofu was sold in the Chinese Works of Art Including The Richard Milhender Export Furniture Collection auction at Bonhams in New York in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 50,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 50,312.50 (€ 45,355.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Mi-style landscape is the most expensive artwork by Chen Daofu that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit Mi-style landscape von Chen Daofu wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Chinese Works of Art Including The Richard Milhender Export Furniture Collection bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 50.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 50.312,50 (€ 45.355,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Mi-style landscape das teuerste Kunstwerk von Chen Daofu, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
