drypoint, 1924, on laid paper, signed in pen and ink, inscribed Voor Annie en Leo Gestel van Charley, with margins, three soft folds in the corners, foxing throughout the sheet, few discoloured spots, otherwise apparently in good condition, unexamined out of the frame

Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Huiswerk by Charley Toorop for EUR 446.50. This price was achieved in the auction PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX at Christies in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 550.00 – 720.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charley Toorop achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rozen - Roses in November 2004 with an auction result of EUR 107,550.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2001 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Huiswerk von Charley Toorop für EUR 446,50 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS INCL. COPIES AFTER OMPIX bei Christies in Amsterdam erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 550,00 – 720,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charley Toorop erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rozen - Roses im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 107.550,00.
