Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Vyse could be acquired at Christies in London in September 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Neil Wilson Collection: A Romantic Vision auction, the work Portrait bust of an army officer changed hands for GBP 250.00 (€ 321.11) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Vyse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'The Horse Fair': A Chelsea Pottery Model, introduced in 1934 in November 2019 with an auction result of GBP 4,812.00 (€ 5,650.46).
